Vessel with carved and painted rim. VT Sugar Maple, acrylic paint, botanical oil & wax finish. 4.5″diameter x 5″ high.
The rim of this thin-walled vessel (approx. 1/16″ wall thickness at the rim) features a view of the third highest, and arguably most recognizable, peak in Vermont – Camel’s Hump. Despite the thin walls, this piece survived the 2024 Stowe Foliage Arts Festival when a sudden gust of wind collapsed the main event tent on top of the exhibitors booths without so much as a scratch. That’s Green Mountain resilience for you. The bottom was left a little thicker in this one, so it doesn’t ‘float’ in the hand quite like some other pieces, but that may have helped keep it upright and safe through the storm (or your cats, if you have those).
