One of the most amazing pieces of wood to find its way to my lathe. Salvaged from another woodworker in southern Vermont this piece of maple burl, likely Big Leaf Maple from the pacific northwest, has gorgeous figure. The small bowl was hollowed on a different axis from the exterior profile to give an offset dish with an angled rim to highlight the figure. Pictures, unfortunately, don’t do this one justice. Finished with a food-safe botanical tung oil. 7.5″ Diameter x 2″ High.
